Ontario Wealth Management Corporation has proudly supported The Owemanco Charitable Foundation (the “Foundation”) since 2014 by donating 5% of its management fees earned by managing the Owemanco Mortgage Trust (the “Trust”) and covering all its operational costs. In addition to this support, the Foundation also benefits from donor support. Interest earned on the Foundation’s assets, which are invested in the Trust, is distributed each year to a charity selected by the Board. Over $450,000 has been donated to date.
In 2024, the Foundation marked its 10-year anniversary with assets having grown to approximately $1,000,000 in capital. The donation for the year was $100,000, with plans for increasing contributions in the years to come.
Our mission is to support organizations that focus on community outreach, mental health services, and resources for those in need across Southern Ontario. We prioritize charities that operate efficiently and maintain low administrative costs. As an example, in 2018, we chose to donate to Nellie’s, an organization providing emergency shelter and support for women. We were impressed by their significant impact and their commitment to directing 90% of their revenue towards programs and services.
